>sleduyushly< or who is next on sol asylum is anton zap. we are pleased to be closing out 2014 with the delightfully well-crafted deep house that resonates within anton. we start with talking a simplistic yet deep and ever-evolving atmosphere with peculiar echoes and noises that speak to us through constantly moving metallic percussion. next rublewood with its trotting wooden clicks and oscillating claps we morph through the track until the euphoric themes expand bringing us to the next level. in my lesson, anton channels a 90s ambience with a definite feel for funk. arpeggiated synths with just a hint of acid mixed with harmonic pads and unconventional horn riffs bring this eccentric soundtrack together. finally her lesson brings us to more experimental territory with a futuristic outer galactic journey through space and time where a metronomic kick, walking bassline and gleaming pads transport us to another dimension.

new artist on black market, a thousand years (real name zeke africa) grew up in devon. as son of a jazz pianist... he started producing with dance ejay though as soon as he entered his teens and kept evolving in the decade since. the name a thousand years is inspired by sci-fi and reflects his own futuristic take on house music.

anything eddie ruscha touches is generally worth checking, and this latest outing for lectric sands offshoot it’s a lectric world is no exception. ruscha kicks things off with the electric dub, an untypically funky fusion of his usual vivid psychedelics, exotic vocal samples, crunchy guitars and an undulating disco-rock groove. the original rub - all bubbling electronics, muted guitar licks and deep house warmth - adds a little balearic disco flavour, before ruscha returns to more familiar territory with the delay-laden and pleasingly out-there lectric dub. finally, he reaches for the marimbas on the pleasing dub, an afro-influenced blast of wide-eyed balearic sunshine complete with lilting pedal steel.

the second release of inkblots involves three great artists deeply active into the international techno scene: the japanese go hiyama and the berlin based duo i/y. on side a, go hiyama’s first track ‘recur’ delivers sinister atmospheres matched with a tough kick and industrial bleepy elements. slow and paranoic drones get in and out contributing to enlarge the sound perception. the second track ‘prop’ introduces elegant hi-hats and strident synths. a captivating kick perfectly embraces the shrill synths waving together with the sharp drum, what remains of the first side is just tense ambients, forewarning the journey is not over. side b smells like a dark club firing up, indeed i/y’s aim is not different at all. ’thesys 0000.001’ debuts with a thin bassline and distorted grave surroundings. the track evolves with clean slap hats sound in an empty echo chamber. deep timbres rise and fall, turning the entire route gently aggressive. the second track is an idm experiment which keeps a trippy approach and the clarity of claps and hi-hats. solid as the first one, ‘thesys 0000.003’ sets itself as an hypnotic but pleasant moment where suspicious fragments quickly appear and disappear: a sparkled trip to be enjoyed anytime but not by anyone.

dan mela & dodi paleses what ever not reach release number 6 presenting here the super talented marco erroi aka goldfinger (also co-founder of common series). an ep going from the electronic deep influences of the m.t.s to the detroit raw sound of housemate.

for the third in its fifth anniversary release series, stroboscopic artefacts brings together tracks from xhin, tommy four seven, kangding ray and dsrcd. xhins blade moth, previously released digitally by meerestief, finds today new (and remastered) life on sa. it is deep and propulsive, with scattershot percussion reverberating around finely tuned kicks and sci-fi oscillations. the detailed sound design and experimental quirks are typical of the producer, they made for a stunning debut album on sa in 2011, and here elevate the functional 4x4 skeleton into a fantastically ethereal piece of dance music

r002 sees a long-time jaunt favourite deepa & biri, take centre stage. the israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of gigilo, transmat and their own black crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. the basement cuts ep, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut thats notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds.
